Professor Richard Dorsett

Richard Dorsett is Professor of Economic Evaluation at the University of Westminster.  From 2008 until 2016 he was Principal Research Fellow and Director of Policy Evaluation at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research, where he is now a Fellow. Before that, from 2000, he was Research Director at the Policy Studies Institute.  He has a PhD in economics from the University of Manchester.

His research interests lie mostly in the fields of employment, welfare and education/training.  He specialises in empirical research, involving the application of  econometric and statistical models to real-world data.  His particular expertise is in impact analysis and he has led numerous projects using both experimental and non-experimental techniques.  Prior experience covers both large-scale government evaluations and smaller-scale studies.
