New report: Post-16 pathways to employment for lower attaining pupils – are they working?
This new report lead by CER Professor Peter Urwin, together with Westminster colleagues and collaborators at FFT Datalab, summarises new research shedding light on the educational experiences of lower attaining young people in England, with a particular focus on their post-16 pathways.
The research was funded by the Nuffield Foundation, and uses the Longitudinal Education Outcomes (LEO) administrative data.
The study identifies a pressing need to improve outcomes for these lower attaining learners, who are predominantly from disadvantaged backgrounds and often have some form of Special Educational Need (SEN) identified early in their school career.
